About Natural Texas

Natural Texas Forest and Land Management is dedicated to helping central Texas’ landowners restore and manage their property using the best available mechanical means to enable and supplement prescribed burns and other management techniques. Natural Texas offers land restoration, selective land clearing, and trail building services that leave the soil surface intact and do not scar the land, revealing the natural value of property with a minimum of disturbance.

With a mulching forestry mower, Natural Texas leaves the soil intact and recycles nutrients, while maintaining a highly selective ability to remove specific trees and brush. The soil compaction is less than 3.5 pounds per square inch, less than the average human foot print. Where fire suppression has resulted in large diameter undergrowth that is difficult to remove with a controlled burn, Natural Texas is the ideal choice for clearing the heavy undergrowth and establishing areas for prescribed burn management. We also work with landowners to ensure adequate diversity of forest structure and habitat.

Using more traditional methods that push trees over and create burn piles usually results in a myriad of problems. Resulting erosion scars the land, is expensive to remedy, and pollutes Texas’ waterways. A bulldozer’s soil compaction often results in more than 20% mortality for trees adjacent to where it works. In addition to being unsightly, burn piles create sterile areas because the concentrated heat kills vital microorganisms in the soil.
