Tree Insects and Diseases.

Have the leaves prematurely developed an unusual color or size?

Are mushrooms present at the base of the tree?

Has the tree lost leaves unseasonably?

Is the bark discolored, falling off or growing a fungus?

Are there webs in the branches or holes in the bark?

Dead Wood & Decay.

Are there large dead branches in the tree?

Have any branches fallen from the tree?

Are there detached branches hanging in the tree?

Does the tree have cavities or rotten wood along the truck or in major branches?

Are there cracks or splits in the trunk or where branches are attached?

Have roots been broken off, injured or damaged by lowering the soil level, installing pavement, repairing sidewalks or digging trenches?

Damaging Over-Growth.

Are branches close or touching power lines or property?

Has the tree been topped or otherwise heavily pruned?

Have trees in the adjacent wooded areas been removed?

Has the site recently been changed by construction, raising the soil level or installing lawns?
